How to use it

Take it in one sitting with the timer on. That is under a minute a question, so skip anything that is taking too long and come back to it. After submitting, read every solution: each one sets out the logic step by step. For letter codes, write the alphabet positions of the word and its code one below the other and look at the differences; also check for reversal and opposite letters (A↔Z). For sentence codes, find the word common to two sentences and the code common to the same two.

FAQs

Is there negative marking?

Yes. Each correct answer gets 1 mark and each wrong answer loses 0.25 marks, as in SSC CGL Tier 1. Unattempted questions score zero.

What level are the questions?

The first questions are at SSC MTS/RRB Group D level; the last ones match the harder questions in SSC CGL and bank prelims.

Can I retake the test?

Yes. Retake it after revising the methods in the solutions and compare your score and time.

Instructions

Duration: 60 minutes, 100 questions, 200 marks.

  • Four sections of 25 questions, 15 minutes each. When a section's time ends you move to the next one and cannot go back.
  • Marking: +2 for a correct answer, −0.5 for a wrong answer.
  • The timer at the top right counts down. When it reaches zero the test is submitted automatically.
  • The palette on the right shows each question's status: grey not visited, red not answered, green answered, purple marked for review, and purple with a tick answered and marked for review.
  • Your answer is saved only when you click Save & Next or Mark for Review & Next. Jumping to another question from the palette does not save the current one.
  • Clear Response removes your selected answer.
