You can report such posts to socialmedia.complaints@mahacet.org.

Two attempts: how it worked in 2026

2026 was the first year with two attempts for each group. Candidates could register for one or both attempts. If you took both, the better total percentile was used for admission. Subject-wise percentiles were not mixed across attempts, and PCM and PCB marks could not be transferred between groups. The CET Cell has not yet said how many attempts 2027 will have or when they will be held.

Eligibility

Under the 2026 brochure, Indian nationals who have passed or are appearing for HSC/Class 12 or an equivalent exam can take MHT-CET, and there is no age limit. Maharashtra State candidates (Types A to E) must take MHT-CET for B.E./B.Tech and B.Pharm/Pharm.D seats in the state CAP. All India candidates may skip it, because their JEE (Main) score (for engineering) or NEET score (for pharmacy) is preferred. Minimum Class 12 marks for each course are set in the CAP rules for that year.

Exam pattern (2026)

GroupSectionQuestionsMarksMarking schemeDuration
PCMPhysics + Chemistry50 + 501001 mark each, no negative marking90 minutes
PCMMathematics501002 marks each, no negative marking90 minutes
PCBPhysics + Chemistry50 + 501001 mark each, no negative marking90 minutes

Each group is a 180-minute computer-based test with 4-option MCQs. PCM has 150 questions and PCB has 200. The Physics–Chemistry section is submitted automatically after 90 minutes, and then Mathematics or Biology opens. The 2026 brochure offered the paper in English, Marathi or Urdu. Your choice of medium cannot be changed later, and the English version is final if there is a dispute.

Syllabus

For 2026 the CET Cell said questions would be based on the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (State Board) syllabus. About 20% of the weight came from Class 11 and 80% from Class 12, with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at JEE (Main) difficulty and Biology at NEET difficulty. Only listed Class 11 chapters were included. Download the 2027 syllabus from the CET Cell website when it is published.
