CUET (UG) 2027, the Common University Entrance Test, is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for undergraduate admission to Central Universities and to participating State, Deemed and Private universities. As of 24 October 2026, no CUET (UG) 2027 dates have been announced. NTA's published calendar runs only to March 2027 and does not include CUET (UG). On the 2026 pattern, expect applications in January 2027 and the exam in May 2027.

CUET (PG) 2027, a different exam, is on NTA's calendar for March 2027. Do not confuse the two.
Eligibility
Under the 2026 bulletin there is no age limit for CUET (UG). Candidates who have passed Class 12 or are appearing in the current year can take it. Each university applies its own age, subject and marks rules for each programme. You may pick test subjects regardless of your Class 12 subjects, but they must match what your target university asks for.

Syllabus
Domain subjects follow the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. Language tests use reading comprehension, literary aptitude and vocabulary. The General Aptitude Test covers general knowledge, current affairs, mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, and logical and analytical reasoning.

Exam centres
CUET (UG) 2026 was held in 321 cities, 13 of them outside India. Maharashtra students choose exam cities from the list in the information bulletin when they apply.
What the score is used for
NTA only conducts the test and issues scores. Each participating university prepares its own merit list, runs its own counselling and decides its own cut-offs, so there is no single CUET cut-off. In 2026, 244 universities took part.
Last year's numbers (CUET UG 2026)
- 15,68,867 unique candidates registered (13,54,699 in 2025) and 11,64,098 appeared.
- About 67.56 lakh subject tests were taken across 19 days and 35 shifts.
- Only 149 candidates registered to take their papers in Marathi medium.
Tips for Maharashtra students
- CUET (UG) is mainly needed for central universities and other participating universities. Check whether each college you want accepts it before you choose subjects.
- In 2026 the exam ran from 11 May to 7 June, so plan your CUET revision for April–May.
- Marathi medium is available if you are more comfortable in it.
Frequently asked questions
When will CUET UG 2027 registration start?
NTA has not announced it as of 24 October 2026. In 2026 the application window was 3–30 January, so January 2027 is likely. Apply only on cuet.nta.nic.in.
Will CUET UG 2027 be held in May?
Expected but not confirmed. The 2026 exam ran from 11 to 31 May, with some papers on 6–7 June 2026.
How many subjects can I take in CUET UG?
Up to five, including languages and the General Aptitude Test (2026 rule).
Is there negative marking in CUET UG?
Yes. A correct answer gets +5 and a wrong answer −1 (2026 rule).
Is there an age limit for CUET UG?
No age limit for the test itself, though individual universities may set age criteria for admission.
Can I take CUET UG in Marathi?
Yes. Marathi is one of the 13 mediums offered.
