Who can appear

Regular students of Class 12 in Science, Arts, Commerce and vocational (HSC Vocational) streams fill the form through their junior college. Repeaters, private students who have received an enrolment certificate, students taking the class improvement scheme or isolated (individual) subjects, and ITI students using transfer of credit also fill forms online through a college, within the same dates.

How the exam form is filled

  1. For regular students, the form is filled from the online FYJC (Class 11) data of 2025-26, not from the SARAL PFN-ID. MCVC and ITI students whose data is not in the FYJC system fill the form directly; others missing from FYJC data must give their details at the divisional board office.
  2. The APAAR ID is entered if the student has one.
  3. Photo: colour passport photo in JPG, 25 to 40 KB, taken within the last six months, with a plain or white background. The photo cannot be changed after the form is sent to the board and the hall ticket is made.
  4. The college pays the total fee online through the SBI payment gateway between 31 August and 30 November 2026. Cash is not accepted at the board.
  5. Students and parents should sign the pre-list after checking the name and date of birth, because the board sees many errors in these fields.

The circular says the dates will not be extended, and hall tickets will not be issued for forms whose fee has not been paid.

Private candidates (Form No. 17)

Students appearing privately first enrol online through the "Student Corner" on mahahsscboard.in. The board's circular of 31 July 2026 set these windows: regular fee 1 August to 30 September 2026, late fee (₹100) 1 to 15 October, and extra late fee (₹20 per day) 16 to 31 October 2026. The enrolment fee is ₹1,110 plus a ₹100 processing fee, paid online. Documents include the original school leaving certificate, Aadhaar card and a passport-size photo, and the printouts go to the junior college chosen in the form. After enrolment is approved, the student still has to fill the exam form with the exam fee in the board's schedule.

Exam structure

PhaseWhat happens2027 window
Phase 1Practical, grade, oral and internal assessment exams at the college20 January to 6 February 2027
Phase 2Written theory papers at board centres8 February to 16 March 2027

Paper-wise timings, marks and the order of subjects will be in the official timetable. In 2026 the board said the timetable on its website is for information and that the printed timetable given by the college is final; students should not rely on timetables shared on social media.

Exam fee waiver in drought-hit talukas

A state government resolution dated 25 September 2026 declared drought conditions in 265 talukas and listed an exam fee waiver for school and college students there. Following it, the Mumbai divisional board told colleges in Shrivardhan taluka (Raigad) on 9 October 2026 to accept HSC and SSC 2027 forms without the exam fee until further orders. Students in other drought-hit talukas should ask their college about the waiver.

Last year's numbers

  • HSC 2026 written exams ran from 10 February to 18 March 2026, and practicals from 23 January to 9 February 2026 (board press note, 31 October 2025).
  • The HSC 2026 result was declared online on 2 May 2026 at 1 pm (board press note, 30 April 2026).
  • The overall pass percentage was 89.79%, with Konkan division highest (94.14%) and Latur lowest (84.14%), as reported by Navbharat Live.

After the result

Students can apply online for verification of marks and photocopies of answer books; in 2026 this window was 3 to 17 May. Revaluation needs the photocopy first and must be applied for within five working days of getting it. A student who passes with all subjects gets three consecutive chances to improve marks under the class improvement scheme (for the 2026 batch: June-July 2026, February-March 2027 and June-July 2027). The board also gives additional marks to eligible sportspersons and art students under its concession rules; proposals go through the college.

Tips for Maharashtra students

  • Check your name, mother's name, date of birth, stream and subjects on the college pre-list and sign it; this is the cheapest stage to fix errors.
  • The nine divisional boards are Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur and Konkan. Your college deals with its own divisional board.
  • Practicals start almost three weeks before the theory papers, so keep journals and project work ready by mid-January.
