Who can appear
Regular Class 10 students of Maharashtra state board schools appear through their school. Repeaters, private candidates with an enrolment certificate, students under the class improvement scheme, students taking isolated subjects and ITI students using transfer of credit also fill forms online through a school in the same windows. Students who passed Class 5 or Class 8 through the Maharashtra State Open School can enrol for SSC as private (Form No. 17) candidates.
How the exam form is filled
- Schools fill regular students' forms online using the student's PEN-ID in UDISE+. If the student's record is complete in UDISE+, the form can be submitted from it.
- Students under the Kaushalya Setu scheme asking for transfer of credit must also apply online and mark the subjects concerned.
- The APAAR ID is entered if the student has one.
- Photo: colour passport photo in JPG, 25 to 40 KB, taken within the last six months, with a plain or white background. It cannot be changed once the form is sent to the board and the hall ticket is made.
- The school pays the total fee online through the SBI payment gateway. Cash and old bank challans are not accepted.
- Students or parents sign the pre-list after checking the name and date of birth against the general register.
The board's circular of 18 August 2026 says these dates will not be extended, and hall tickets are not issued for forms whose fee is unpaid.
Private candidates (Form No. 17)
Private students enrol online on mahahsscboard.in (Student Corner). For 2027 the regular-fee window was 1 August to 30 September 2026, the late-fee window (₹100) 1 to 15 October, and the extra-late window (₹20 per day) 16 to 31 October 2026. The fee is ₹1,110 for enrolment plus ₹100 processing, paid online only. The student must enter the name of the school last attended; that school handles the exam form, internal assessment and practicals.
Exam structure

The Mumbai divisional board has told schools in Shrivardhan taluka (Raigad) to accept SSC and HSC 2027 forms without the exam fee until further orders. Parents in other drought-hit talukas should ask the school.
