Go Solar

Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, good morning. Today, on 22nd October, we celebrate World Energy Day, and I would like to speak on the topic ‘Go Solar’.

Friends, the sun is a free and endless source of energy. Coal, petrol and natural gas are limited and will run out one day, but sunlight will be available for billions of years. If we use solar energy, there will be no energy crisis.

Solar power is economical. Once solar panels are installed on our roofs, they need very little maintenance and work for over twenty years. They save a lot on electricity bills, and many governments even give subsidies for them. Solar water heaters, solar lamps and solar cookers are already common in our homes.

Most importantly, solar energy is clean. It does not produce smoke or greenhouse gases and conserves natural resources like coal and water for future generations.

So let us all pledge today to ‘Go Solar’ and save our planet. Thank you.
