The Will to Win
Respected judges, teachers and my dear friends, good morning. Today I am going to speak on ‘The Will to Win’.
The will to win is the strong desire and determination to succeed in spite of difficulties. Talent and opportunity are important, but without this inner fire they are of little use.
Steve Jobs, whose speech we read, dropped out of college, slept on friends’ floors and was fired from the very company he had started. Yet he did not lose faith. He started over, built Next and Pixar, and returned to Apple to lead it to new heights. Similarly, our own Mary Kom, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and many athletes rose from humble backgrounds because they refused to give up.
The purpose of this title is to remind us that failure is not the end but a step towards success. We can develop the will to win by setting clear goals, working hard every day, learning from mistakes, staying positive and taking inspiration from great people.
The will to win gives us confidence, discipline and patience. It helps us not only in examinations and sports but in every challenge of life.
So, friends, let us ‘stay hungry’ for success and never give up. Thank you.
