Dr Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswamiji was a spiritual leader of an ashram in the Tumkur district of Karnataka who dedicated his life to serving humanity. He provided free residential education to more than nine thousand children and fed thousands. Even at the age of 102 he stood without support, was steady and alert and gave a wise discourse. He was generous and selfless; Dr Kalam believed that his spirit of giving was the source of his strength.
