Answer: I agree with the statement.

• India has historical monuments, religious places, forts, beaches, hill stations, wildlife and a rich cultural heritage which attract tourists.
• Better transport, communication, online booking and rising incomes have increased domestic and foreign tourism; new types such as medical, agro, heritage and eco-tourism have developed.
• Tourism creates employment for guides, hotels, transport and handicrafts, and earns foreign exchange.
• The government (Ministry of Tourism, MTDC, ‘Incredible India’) promotes it. Hence tourism is a continuously developing field.
