Music has been the language of my home. My grandmother sang abhangas every morning, and at the age of seven I began learning Hindustani classical vocal music under Pandit Shrikant Gokhale. I have completed the Madhyama Purna examination of the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal and have performed at our district Sawai music festival for young artists.

I have just appeared for my HSC examination in the Science stream. Although I enjoyed science, I realised that my true calling is riyaz and the stage. I wish to study raga grammar, voice culture, musicology and the history of the gharanas in a disciplined academic setting.

Your university, with its experienced gurus, recording studio and regular baithaks, is the ideal place for me. After graduation I aim to become a professional performer and to teach classical music to children in small towns. I promise sincerity, discipline and dedication.
