Answer: The letter asked Miss Morstan to come to the third pillar from the left outside the Lyceum Theatre at seven o’clock that evening, promising that she would get justice.
The letter said that if she was distrustful she could bring two friends, but she must not bring the police, or all would be in vain. It called her a wronged woman who would have justice, and it was signed ‘Your unknown friend’. The handwriting matched the addresses on the boxes in which she had received a pearl every year, so the letter came from the same unknown sender.
