Pythagoras Theorem chapter test: topics
This test covers the Pythagoras Theorem chapter of Class 10 Geometry. Two questions ask you to identify Pythagorean triplets and possible sides of a right triangle. Others are quick calculations: the hypotenuse from sides 6 and 8, the diagonal of a square, and the height of an equilateral triangle. You will also use the 30°–60°–90° and 45°–45°–90° triangle theorems. The last three questions apply the geometric mean theorem (QS² = PS × SR), Apollonius' theorem for a median, and the perpendicular from the vertex of an isosceles triangle.
Format
- 10 MCQs, one correct option each
- 10 marks (1 per question)
- 15 minutes, no negative marking
How to use it
This is a good check after you finish the chapter and before you start Circle, which relies on these results. Draw the triangle, mark the right angle and label the sides before calculating. After submitting, read through each explanation and note which theorem it uses. If you score less than 6, revise the special-angle triangles and Apollonius' theorem, then retake the test.
More practice is on the Geometry subject page. The SSC exam hub lists all tests and board papers.
