Geometric Constructions: testing the ideas behind the drawings
The board asks you to draw constructions, but a multiple-choice test can still check whether you understand why each step works. This test covers the Geometric Constructions chapter of Class 10 Geometry. It asks which line through point P gives the tangent, how many tangents can be drawn from a point outside, on or inside a circle, and why the auxiliary circle on diameter OP gives the points of contact. Other questions check similar triangle constructions: reading the ratio BC : MN = 5 : 3, finding the scale when AB/PQ = 3/4, and the number of equal parts to mark for a ratio of 3 : 5. One question asks for the length of a tangent from a point 10 cm from the centre, and another asks which theorem the tangent construction without the centre uses.
Format
10 single-answer MCQs, 1 mark each, 15 minutes, with no negative marking.
How to use it
Take the test after practising the constructions with compass and ruler. If an explanation shows you guessed, redo that construction on paper. Getting fewer than 6 right is a sign to revise the reasons behind each construction, which also helps with the analysis figure.

FAQs
Is this test free?
Yes, it is free on doubtly.in.
Does this replace practising constructions on paper?
No. It only checks the concepts. You still need to draw each construction by hand for the board exam, which follows the Balbharati syllabus.
