Answer: Histogram with rectangles of heights 30, 50, 55, 40, 20 on the classes 1.5–3.5, 3.5–5.5, 5.5–7.5, 7.5–9.5, 9.5–11.5
| Yield per acre (quintal) | No. of farmers |
|---|---|
| 1.5–3.5 | 30 |
| 3.5–5.5 | 50 |
| 5.5–7.5 | 55 |
| 7.5–9.5 | 40 |
| 9.5–11.5 | 20 |
The classes are not continuous (there is a gap of 1 between them), so first make them continuous by subtracting 0.5 from each lower limit and adding 0.5 to each upper limit, as shown above.
Steps: Take yield per acre (quintal) on the X-axis and no. of farmers on the Y-axis, with a convenient scale on each. Since the first class does not start at 0, show a kink mark between the origin and the first class. On each class interval draw a rectangle whose height equals its frequency; adjacent rectangles touch each other (no gaps). The tallest rectangle is for the class 5.5–7.5 (frequency 55).
