Making Vacation Meaningful

Respected judges, teachers and my dear friends, good morning! Today I would like to speak on ‘Making Vacation Meaningful’.

Vacations are a gift of time, yet many of us lose it in sleeping late and scrolling on mobile phones. Friends, a vacation should refresh our body and enrich our mind.

First, we can learn a new skill — swimming, cooking, a musical instrument or a computer language. Second, we can read good books, both fiction and biographies, which widen our thinking. Third, we can serve others : teach children in our locality, help at an old-age home or plant trees. Fourth, we can travel and explore our own state — forts, villages and museums. And of course, we must spend quality time with grandparents and family.

Let us plan our vacation with a simple timetable that balances rest, learning and service. Then we will return to college not just relaxed, but richer as human beings.
