Soldiers and Farmers : the Real Heroes

Respected judges, teachers and my dear friends, good morning. Today I would like to speak on ‘Soldiers and Farmers : the Real Heroes’.

We often call film stars and sports players our heroes, but the real heroes of our nation are our soldiers and farmers. The soldier stands guard at the border in scorching deserts and freezing snow so that we can sleep peacefully. He leaves his family and is ready to sacrifice his life for the motherland.

The farmer works day and night in the fields, braving drought, floods and debt, to grow the food that feeds over a billion people. Without him, no nation can survive.

That is why Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’. It is our duty to respect them, support their families and value every grain of food. Let us honour these real heroes not just in words but in action.

Thank you.
