What this Similarity test covers
This chapter test is based on Similarity, the first chapter of the Class 10 Geometry (Mathematics Part II) book. Its questions focus on ratios. Several use the ratio of areas of triangles: equal heights with bases 9 cm and 6 cm, equal bases with heights 5 cm and 7 cm, and similar triangles where the area ratio equals the square of the side ratio (including working backwards from areas 25 and 36 cm², or 81 and 121 cm²). Others test the basic proportionality theorem with DE ∥ BC, the angle bisector property, the property of three parallel lines cut by two transversals, and which condition is not a test of similarity.
Format
10 single-correct multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each, total 10 marks, 15 minutes. Wrong answers carry no penalty.
How to use it
Take the test after finishing the theorems and practice sets of the chapter. Draw a rough figure for every question; it makes it easier to match corresponding sides. When you review, check how each explanation sets up the ratio, because writing the sides in the wrong order is the most common error here. A score under 6 means you should revise the area-ratio theorems before moving on.
