About this paper

This is the Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE) HSC (Class 12) Mathematics and Statistics (40) board paper for the Arts and Science streams from the February–March 2024 examination (Day 09). The paper code printed on the question paper is J-862. The questions are transcribed from the board’s own printed question paper published on its website; the switching circuit in Q.15 is described in words. The answers are original answers written by Doubtly, not the board’s official model answers.

Paper pattern

Maximum marks 80, time 3 hours, four sections. Section A: Q.1 has eight MCQs of 2 marks each (16 marks) and Q.2 has four very short answer questions of 1 mark each (4 marks), all compulsory. Section B: Q.3 to Q.14, twelve 2-mark questions, attempt any eight (16 marks). Section C: Q.15 to Q.26, twelve 3-mark questions, attempt any eight (24 marks). Section D: Q.27 to Q.34, eight 4-mark questions, attempt any five (20 marks). Log tables are allowed, calculators are not; graph paper is not necessary and only a rough sketch of a graph is expected. For MCQs only the first attempt is evaluated.

How to use it

Attempt the paper in one 3-hour sitting without a calculator, choosing questions the way the board allows. Then compare your working with the answers step by step: the method, the substitution and the final result for each problem, and every step of each proof.

FAQs

Is this the official board paper? Yes, the questions are from the board’s March 2024 Mathematics and Statistics paper (J-862). The solutions are Doubtly’s own answers; they are not the board’s official answer key.

How many questions must I answer in Section D? Any five of the eight 4-mark questions (Q.27 to Q.34), for 20 marks.
