About this paper

This is the actual Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE) HSC (Class 12) Mathematics & Statistics (40) board paper (Arts & Science) of the June 2026 supplementary examination, held on 24 June 2026. The paper code printed on the question paper is J-276. The questions are transcribed in full from the board’s own printed question paper as published on the board’s website, with mathematical notation typeset and figures to be drawn described in words. The answers are original answers written by Doubtly, worked out independently; they are not the board’s official model answers.

Paper pattern

Maximum marks 80, time 3 hours, four sections. Section A: Q.1 has eight MCQs (2 marks each, 16 marks) and Q.2 has four very short answer questions (1 mark each, 4 marks), all compulsory. Section B: Q.3 to Q.14, twelve 2-mark questions, attempt any eight (16 marks). Section C: Q.15 to Q.26, twelve 3-mark questions, attempt any eight (24 marks). Section D: Q.27 to Q.34, eight 4-mark questions, attempt any five (20 marks). Log tables are allowed, calculators are not; graph paper is not needed, only a rough sketch of a graph is expected. For MCQs only the first attempt is evaluated.

How to use it

Attempt the paper in one 3-hour sitting without a calculator, choosing questions the way the board allows (any eight in B and C, any five in D). Then compare with the answers: check each step of the working, not only the final result, since proofs (Q.28, Q.29, Q.31, Q.33) carry step marks.

FAQs

Is this the official board paper?

Yes, the questions are from the board’s June 2026 Mathematics & Statistics paper (J-276). The solutions are Doubtly’s own answers; the board does not publish a full answer key.

How many questions must I answer in Section D?

Any five of the eight 4-mark questions (Q.27 to Q.34), for 20 marks.

Why is the inverse in Q.27 the same matrix?

The determinant is 1 and the adjoint works out to the matrix itself, so \(A^{-1} = A\), which means \(A^2 = I\). Multiplying \(A\) by itself confirms this.
