Title : The Internet — A Boon and a Bane

The internet is used today in every field of life, and it brings both advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand it is a source of a lot of information : it provides information on any subject, word or event that we need, and it lets us send messages, files and information to any corner of the world in a fraction of a second. It reduces the use of paper, and through social media it keeps us connected with the whole world.

On the other hand, the internet makes people idle by leading them to a sedentary lifestyle, and it is harmful to health, particularly to the eyes, the backbone and the brain. Children get addicted to it, our personal data is at risk, and people and children can misuse various sites. It also causes violence and cybercrime, and the misuse of social media is a danger to the young.

The internet is therefore a good servant but a bad master. If we use it with self-control and for useful purposes, its advantages far outweigh its disadvantages.
