Ideal School celebrated ‘Environment Day’

Nashik, 5th June : Ideal School celebrated Environment Day on its campus on Thursday with a tree-plantation drive, a cleanliness rally and a poster exhibition. The programme began at 8.30 a.m. with a prayer and a short speech on the need to protect nature.

The chief guest, Dr Suresh Patil of the Nashik Environmental Society, planted a banyan sapling in the school garden and spoke about the harmful effects of plastic. More than two hundred students then took part in a rally through the nearby streets, carrying placards that read “Save Trees, Save Life” and “Say No to Plastic”.

A poster exhibition prepared by the students of Classes VIII to X drew a large crowd, and the science club showed simple models of rainwater harvesting and waste segregation. The principal, Mrs R. Deshmukh, announced that the school would plant one hundred saplings this year and would keep every classroom free of plastic.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the head boy. The students left with a promise to make their school and their city greener and cleaner.
