Nashik, 24th April, 2025 :

To mark World Reading Day, the English Department of ABC Junior College organised a visit to the City Central Library on 23rd April, 2025. Fifty students of Std. XII, accompanied by three teachers, took part.

The chief librarian, Mrs. Sunanda Deshpande, welcomed the students and took them round the reading hall, the reference section, the children’s corner and the digital section. She explained how books are catalogued and how members can search for and borrow books online. The students were thrilled to see rare old manuscripts and a collection of more than one lakh books in several languages.

The students then spent an hour reading books of their choice. Many of them enrolled as members of the library. The visit ended with a vote of thanks by the student representative. The students returned inspired to make reading a daily habit.
