Mensuration test: volumes, surface areas, arcs and sectors
This test covers the Mensuration chapter of Class 10 Geometry. Three questions check formulas directly: the volume of a cone, the area of a sector with central angle θ, and the curved surface area of a hemisphere. One question asks for the volume of a frustum with radii r₁ and r₂. The rest are calculations: the slant height of a cone with radius 6 cm and height 8 cm, the volume of a sphere of radius 3 cm, the length of a 90° arc of radius 14 cm, the area of a 60° sector, the area of a sector from its arc length, and the number of small spheres made by melting and recasting a larger one.
Format
- 10 multiple-choice questions, one correct option
- 1 mark each, 10 marks total
- 15 minutes; no negative marking
How to use it
Take it after you have practised all the solid-figure and sector problems in the chapter. Keep π = 22/7 where the question says so, and cancel before you multiply to save time. Review each explanation; recasting problems are easier when you equate volumes first. If you score below 6, make a single page of all the mensuration formulas and revise it before trying again.
