Trigonometry chapter test for SSC Geometry
This 10-question test covers the Trigonometry chapter of Class 10 Geometry. The first group checks the identities sin²θ + cos²θ = 1 and 1 + tan²θ = sec²θ, simplifying (1 - sin²θ)sec²θ, and the values in sin 30° + cos 60°. Next you find cosθ from sinθ = 3/5 and tanθ from secθ = 25/7. The heights and distances part covers the angle of elevation, the height of a tower seen at 60° from 30 m away, and the sun's elevation from a pole and its shadow. The last question uses secθ + tanθ = 3 to find secθ - tanθ.
Format
10 multiple-choice questions, one correct answer each, 1 mark per question, 15 minutes, no negative marking.
How to use it
Take it once you know the identities and the table of values for 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°. For the heights-and-distances questions, draw the right triangle and mark the angle first. After you submit, study the explanation for each question and note which identity is used. If your score is under 6, practise the identity proofs from the textbook and retry.
