Social and Political Movements chapter test
This test is based on Chapter 4 of SSC Political Science. It asks about the main demands of the farmers' movement and the tribal movement, the programme started to make India self-sufficient in food grains, and a farmers' organisation in India. The labour questions ask when the All India Trade Union Congress was formed. The consumer movement question asks which law it followed. The environment questions are about the "Waterman of India" and the organisation he founded to build johads in Rajasthan. The test ends with the name given to issue-based movements after 1980 and the movement the textbook calls an important economic movement.
Format
10 multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each, 15 minutes. Only one option is correct and there is no negative marking.
How to use it
Attempt it after reading the chapter. For each movement, note its main demand and one organisation or leader, since that is what these questions test. After you submit, read the explanations. If you score below 6, revise the farmers', workers', women's, tribal and consumer movements; "explain the concept" questions on workers' movements also come up in the board exam.
More solved questions are on the Political Science subject page. See all tests on the Maharashtra SSC hub.
