Working of the Constitution chapter test
This test covers Chapter 1 of SSC Political Science. It asks when the Constitution came into force, the age the voting age was lowered to, and which amendments gave constitutional status to local self-government. There are two questions on reservation for women in local bodies: what the 73rd and 74th amendments provide, and the share reserved in Maharashtra. The test also covers the year the Right to Information was given, a law that gave women more freedom and security, the basic structure that Parliament cannot change (and what is not part of it), and how democratic reforms after 2000 came to be seen.
Format
- 10 multiple-choice questions, one correct option each
- 1 mark each, 10 marks
- 15 minutes, no negative marking
How to use it
Attempt the test once you have read the chapter and noted its dates, amendments and laws. Several options are similar years or fractions, so read slowly. After you submit, read the explanation for each question; it gives the context you need for "true or false with reasons" and "explain the concept" board questions. If you score below 6, revise the sections on decentralisation, social justice and the role of the judiciary.
More solved questions are on the SSC Political Science page, and every test is on the Maharashtra SSC exam hub.
