Financial Planning test: GST, shares and brokerage

Chapter 4 of SSC Algebra is about money calculations, and this test covers both halves. On the GST side you will answer how many characters a GSTIN has, split an 18% rate into CGST and SGST for an intra-state sale, find the total bill on a taxable value of ₹2000 at 12%, and calculate GST payable after input tax credit. On the shares side you will identify a share at a premium, work out brokerage at 0.2%, add 18% GST on brokerage, find the rate of return when a ₹10 share bought at ₹60 pays a 25% dividend, and find the total cost of buying 100 shares including brokerage and GST.

Format

10 single-correct MCQs, 1 mark each, 15 minutes. There is no negative marking, so attempt every question.

How to use it

This chapter is mostly arithmetic, so the test works best after you have solved the textbook practice sets on GST and shares. Keep a pen ready; percentages on top of percentages (GST on brokerage) are where marks slip. After submitting, compare your working with the explanation for each question. If you score below 6, revise the meanings of face value, market value, dividend and ITC before the next attempt.
