About this paper

This is the actual Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE) HSC (Class 12) Mathematics & Statistics (40) board paper (Arts & Science) of the July 2024 supplementary examination (Day 08, 25 July 2024). The paper code printed on the question paper is J-174. The questions are transcribed in full from the board’s own printed question paper, as published on the board’s official website; the circuit diagram in Q.27 and the tables are given in words or as tables. The answers are original model answers written by Doubtly, not the board’s official model answers.

Paper pattern

Maximum marks 80, time 3 hours, 34 questions in four sections. Section A: Q.1 has eight MCQs (2 marks each) and Q.2 has four very short answer questions (1 mark each), 20 marks, all compulsory. Section B: Q.3 to Q.14, twelve 2-mark questions, attempt any eight (16 marks). Section C: Q.15 to Q.26, twelve 3-mark questions, attempt any eight (24 marks). Section D: Q.27 to Q.34, eight 4-mark questions, attempt any five (20 marks). Log tables are allowed, calculators are not; only a rough sketch of a graph is expected. For each MCQ the correct answer must be written along with its letter.

How to use it

Attempt the paper in one 3-hour sitting without a calculator, choosing questions the way the board allows (any eight in B and C, any five in D). Then compare with the model answers, checking each step of the working, not only the final result.

FAQs

Is this the official board paper?

Yes, the questions are from the board’s July 2024 Mathematics & Statistics paper (J-174). The solutions are Doubtly’s own model answers.

How many questions must I answer in Section D?

Any five of the eight 4-mark questions (Q.27 to Q.34), for 20 marks.
