Entertainment and History chapter test
This test covers Chapter 6 of SSC History, which looks at folk performance, theatre and cinema as part of history. The folk arts questions cover the narrator's role in Kathputali and Dashavatara shows and where Dashavatara is performed, the person who introduced Khanjiri Bhajan, who began Rashtriya Keertan, why Bharud is popular, and what the word "Tamasha" means. The theatre questions ask about Vishnudas Bhave, the father of Marathi theatre, and what the character Keechaka stood for in Khadilkar's Keechakvadh. The cinema questions ask who directed Raja Harishchandra (1913) and who was the first woman film producer.
Format
10 multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each, 15 minutes. Each question has a single correct option and there is no negative marking.
How to use it
Take it after reading the chapter, ideally right after the previous chapter on mass media since the two overlap. Many options are well-known names from Marathi culture, so read each question fully before answering. After submitting, use the explanations to fill the gaps in your notes. If you score less than 6, revise the folk arts section and the early history of Marathi theatre and Indian cinema.
