Heritage Management chapter test
This test covers Chapter 9, the last History chapter in the SSC syllabus. It is about museums, libraries, archives and encyclopaedias. The world museum questions cover Leonardo da Vinci's patron, the scientist whose collection began the British Museum, and who manages the National Museum of Natural History in the USA. The Indian questions ask about the Government Museum founded in 1851, the old name of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastusangrahalay, the ruler who expanded the Saraswati Mahal Granthalay at Thanjavur, the Imperial Record Department, and the Peshwa Daftar. The last two ask who edited the Maharashtriya Dnyankosh and who compiled the Prachin Bharatiya Sthalakosh.
Format
- 10 MCQs, single correct option
- 1 mark each, 10 marks
- 15 minutes, no negative marking
How to use it
Take the test after reading the chapter and preparing a short list of institutions with their place and founder. Many answers are names and places, so careful recall matters more than speed. Read the explanations after you submit. If you score below 6, revise the encyclopaedias and archives sections; they also come up in "complete the chart" and "short note" board questions.
