March 2024 Science and Technology Part 1 board paper

This is the SSC Science Part 1 paper from the Maharashtra Board exam held on 18 March 2024 (English medium, paper code N 640). It is a 2-hour, 40-mark paper with no calculator. Q.1 has five MCQs and five one-mark items; Q.2 asks for scientific reasons and short answers; Q.3 has 3-mark questions (attempt any five) and Q.4 is a 5-mark question with a choice of two.

The questions cover the SI unit of heat, the p-block and the second period, displacement reactions, tinning and alloys, dispersion of light through a prism, the heating curve of ice and water, regelation and the anomalous behaviour of water, eye defects and lenses, Newton’s law of gravitation with a satellite period calculation, the solenoid, and the acetic acid–sodium carbonate experiment.

How to use it

Solve the paper in 2 hours on paper, drawing the diagrams you would draw in the exam. Then check every answer against the model answers. Revise weak chapters with the Science Part 1 full subject test and the Science Part 1 questions page.
