July 2024 Social Science Paper II: Geography

This is the Maharashtra SSC Geography paper (Social Sciences Paper II) from July 2024, English medium, paper code N 434. It is a 2-hour paper for 40 marks, following the India–Brazil comparison of the Balbharati syllabus. Q.4(A), marking places on an outline map of Brazil, is not included here; the map-reading part Q.4(B) is described in words.

The paper tests field visits, trade, snowfall and settlement in Brazil, the telecom sector, an odd-one-out set on river basins and a population-density map of India. The graph question is on India's urbanisation, and the alternative figure question uses the 2016 sector pie diagrams of both countries.

How to use it

Attempt the whole paper in 2 hours without looking at the answers, then check each answer. The "give reasons" answers need a clear cause-and-effect chain of two or three points. Revise with the Geography questions page and the SSC exam hub.
