Physiography and Drainage chapter test
This test covers Chapter 3 of SSC Geography, comparing the landforms and rivers of India and Brazil. The India questions ask about the youngest and southernmost range of the Himalayas, the river system that forms the Sunderbans delta, the island with India's only active volcano, how the Lakshadweep islands were formed, why west-flowing rivers from the Western Ghats form estuaries, and India's second-largest river system by catchment. The Brazil questions ask for the height of Pico da Neblina, the rivers on either side of Marajo island, why the Drought Quadrilateral is a rain-shadow area, and what the Pantanal is.
Format
10 multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each, 15 minutes. Each has one correct answer and there is no negative marking.
How to use it
Attempt this after studying the chapter with physical maps of both countries. Locating each feature on a map before you answer helps a lot. After you submit, read the explanations, which give the reasons behind landforms; these are useful for "give geographical reasons" questions such as why Himalayan rivers are perennial. If you score below 6, revise the physical divisions of both countries and their main river systems.
More practice is on the SSC Geography questions page and the Maharashtra SSC exam hub.
