Natural Vegetation and Wildlife chapter test

This test covers Chapter 5 of SSC Geography. Three questions link rainfall to forest type in India: the rainfall needed for evergreen forests, for deciduous forests, and for thorny and scrub vegetation. Others ask about Indian vegetation and wildlife: the coniferous tree at medium heights in the Himalayas, where one-horned rhinoceroses live, and the only country where both tigers and lions are found. The Brazil questions ask for the local name of its evergreen rainforests, the name for shifting cultivation there, where anacondas are found, and which animals live in Brazil's rivers.

Format

10 MCQs, 1 mark each (10 marks), 15 minutes. Exactly one option is correct, and wrong answers are not penalised.

How to use it

Take the test after reading the chapter and noting the rainfall ranges for each forest type. The local Brazilian names are unfamiliar, so write them down a few times before attempting. After submitting, read the explanations. If your score is below 6, revise the vegetation maps and the environmental problems section, which also appears as a long-answer question.

The SSC Geography page has more questions, and all Class 10 tests are on the exam hub.
