Population chapter test: India and Brazil
This test covers Chapter 6 of SSC Geography. Its questions are mostly about reading population figures correctly. For India, it asks for the population in Census 2011, India's share of the world's land area, its population density, the increase from 2001 to 2011, and average life expectancy. For Brazil, the questions cover its world rank in population, its population density, and how far from the eastern coast most Brazilians live. Two general questions ask what sex ratio means and when the first census of both countries was held.
Format
- 10 multiple-choice questions
- 1 mark each, 10 marks total
- 15 minutes
- Single correct option; no negative marking
How to use it
Attempt this after reading the chapter and studying its tables and graphs. Many options are close numbers, so make a small comparison table of density, growth, sex ratio and literacy for both countries first. After submitting, check the explanations. If you score below 6, revise the chapter's statistics and practise drawing a simple bar graph from population data, which is often asked in the board exam.
