Life Processes Part 2: reproduction
This test covers Chapter 3 of Science and Technology Part 2, which is about reproduction. It begins with asexual reproduction: binary fission in Amoeba, budding in Hydra and regeneration in Planaria. Then it moves to plants: the male part of a flower and the ploidy of the endosperm after double fertilisation. The human reproduction questions ask where fertilisation takes place, how long the menstrual cycle usually lasts, how identical twins form, and the number of chromosomes in a human sperm cell. One question is on reproductive health: the cause of syphilis.
Format
10 multiple-choice questions, one correct option each, 1 mark per question, 15 minutes and no negative marking.
How to use it
Take the test after finishing the chapter, including the diagrams of the flower and the human reproductive systems. Many options use similar terms (fission, fragmentation, regeneration, budding), so think of a definition before choosing. When you review, read the explanation for each question and link it to the diagram. If you score below 6, revise asexual reproduction in unicellular and multicellular organisms and double fertilisation.
The Science Part 2 subject page has more practice, and other tests are on the Maharashtra SSC hub.
