Field Visit chapter test
This test covers Chapter 1 of SSC Geography, which describes a sample field visit across Maharashtra. Most questions follow that route, from Naldurg in Osmanabad district to Alibag. They ask about the type of settlement formed by houses along a road, the river the Ujani dam is built on, the volcanic rock at Sinhagad, the hills the Balaghat Ranges branch from, the dam that supplies water to Pune, the "Devtake" at Sinhagad fort, and the landform the Kolaba fort stands on. Two questions connect what you see to geography: the vegetation type of bor and babool trees near Naldurg, and the type of farming of coconut, betelnut and jackfruit in the coastal plains.
Format
10 multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each, 15 minutes. One option is correct and wrong answers carry no penalty.
How to use it
Take the test after reading the chapter with a map of Maharashtra open, so you can follow the route. Many questions link a place to a landform or crop, so think about the region before choosing. Review the explanations afterwards. If you score below 6, re-read the chapter and practise the "what preparations should be made before a field visit" type of question.
