About this practice paper

This is an original Doubtly practice paper for Maharashtra SSC Social Science Paper II (Geography), Class 10. It follows the board’s pattern for the India–Brazil comparison syllabus but it is not an official board paper; all questions are new and each has a model answer.

Pattern: 40 marks, 2 hours

Q.1 has four fill-in MCQs, Q.2 four odd-factor-out sets, and Q.3 five right-or-wrong statements (any four). Q.4 is the map question: as in the board paper, Q.4 (A) asks you to mark places on an outline map; that part is not included here, and the map of Brazil in Q.4 (B) is described in words. Q.5 asks for geographical reasons (any two), Q.6 is a graph question (draw a line graph or read a bar graph), and Q.7 asks for detailed answers (any two). Every chapter, from Field Visit to Tourism, Transport and Communication, is covered.

How to use it

Write the paper in 2 hours, then check your answers. In the graph question, write the title, scale and axis labels on the graph itself. The urbanisation values in Q.6 (B) are rounded to whole numbers from World Bank data.

Why is Q.4 (A) missing?

Marking places on an outline map cannot be done on screen. Practise it on a printed outline map of India and Brazil.

Which figures should I write in the exam?

Use the figures given in your Class 10 Geography textbook, e.g. India 8°4′ N to 37°6′ N and Brazil 5°15′ N to 33°45′ S.
