March 2025 Science and Technology Part 2 board paper

This is the Science Part 2 (biology) paper from the Maharashtra SSC exam on 12 March 2025 (English medium, paper code N 853). It is a 2-hour paper for 40 marks. The board expects labelled diagrams and each question started on a new page. Q.1 has five MCQs and five one-mark items (odd one out, correlation, true or false, "who am I"). Q.2 asks for scientific reasons and short answers. Q.3 has 3-mark questions (any five) and Q.4 has two 5-mark options. The crossword in Q.3 is not included here.

The questions cover every chapter: ATP from glucose and the stages of mitosis, mutation and the mechanism of heredity, why the mother is not responsible for the sex of a child, asexual reproduction in unicellular organisms, completing a food chain, acid rain and steps to conserve biodiversity, solar cells and the problems of thermal and nuclear power, Pisces versus Reptilia and features of Mollusca, vinegar and sewage treatment, stem cells and biotechnology, ways to reduce stress, and a disaster with its effects and remedies.

How to use it

Solve it on paper within 2 hours, with diagrams. Then check every answer against the model answers, especially the points the board looks for in 3- and 5-mark answers. Use the Science Part 2 full subject test and the Science Part 2 subject page to revise weak chapters.
