About the July 2024 SSC Algebra board paper

This is the Mathematics Part I (Algebra) paper set by the Maharashtra State Board for the July 2024 Class 10 exam (English medium, Revised Course, paper code N 384). It is a 2-hour paper for 40 marks, and calculators are not allowed. It follows the board pattern: four MCQs and four one-mark questions in Q.1, activities to complete (any two) and short sums (any four) in Q.2, one activity and two 3-mark sums in Q.3, and longer 4-mark and 3-mark problems with internal choice in Q.4 and Q.5.

Between them the questions cover all six Algebra chapters: determinants and Cramer's rule, simultaneous equations from the sides of a rectangle, quadratic equations by factorisation, formula and the nature of roots, arithmetic progressions including simple interest as an A.P., shares, brokerage and GST, probability with one and two dice, and statistics with a pie diagram of a family's investments, an assumed-mean table of tolls and a grouped frequency table for the mode.
