March 2025 Science and Technology Part 1 board paper

This is the SSC Science Part 1 paper from the Maharashtra Board exam held on 10 March 2025 (English medium, paper code N 840). It is a 2-hour, 40-mark paper with no calculator, and labelled diagrams are expected where needed. Q.1 has five MCQs and five one-mark questions (true or false, odd one out, matching). Q.2 asks for scientific reasons and short answers. Q.3 has 3-mark questions (attempt any five), and Q.4 is a 5-mark question with a choice of two. One diagram-based part of Q.3 is not included here.

Questions come from across the book: free fall of an iron ball from 125 m, mass and weight, element identification from descriptions, decomposition and redox reactions, solenoid coils and why copper and aluminium are used for power lines, the anomalous behaviour of water and the principle of heat exchange, twinkling stars and rainbows, the human eye, preventing rust, copper with nitric acid, ethanol as a fuel additive, satellite types and launch vehicles.

How to use it

Write the paper by hand in 2 hours, drawing the diagrams you would draw in the exam. Then check each answer against the model answers and look at how reasons and definitions are worded. Revise the chapters where you lost marks with the Science Part 1 full subject test and the Science Part 1 questions page.

FAQs

Is it free to use?

Yes, the paper and its model answers are free.

Is it based on the current syllabus?
