Maharashtra 10th Board Mock Test: Free Tests With Answers
On this page
The Maharashtra SSC (Class 10) written exams for 2027 are scheduled from 15 February to 11 March 2027, according to the board's tentative timetable. That leaves a few months to move from "I have read the chapter" to "I can answer under exam conditions". Mock tests are the bridge between the two, but only if you use them well. This guide explains which free mock tests you can take on Doubtly, what each one checks, and how to turn every attempt into marks.

How the tests are built
- Chapter tests: 10 multiple-choice questions, 15 minutes, one chapter only. There are 56 of them across the seven subjects above.
- Full subject mock tests: 25 multiple-choice questions, 40 minutes, with questions drawn from every chapter of the subject.
- March 2025 board papers: the actual question papers set by the board, with worked answers written out step by step.
There is no negative marking in the chapter and full subject tests, so attempt every question.
What an MCQ mock test can and cannot tell you
Be clear about what you are measuring. The board papers for Algebra, Geometry, Science 1, Science 2 and both Social Science papers are 40-mark, two-hour written papers. Only a small part of each paper is multiple choice: 4 marks in each Maths paper and 5 marks in each Science paper, for example. The rest is activities, short answers, scientific reasons, proofs, numericals and long answers.
So an MCQ mock test is very good at one thing: showing quickly whether your concepts and facts are correct. If you score 6 out of 10 on the Lenses chapter test, you have a concept gap that will also cost you marks in the written questions. What an MCQ test cannot check is your presentation, your steps, your diagrams or your speed at writing. For that you need the full board paper. A sensible routine uses both:
- Chapter tests to find and fix weak concepts.
- Full subject mock tests to check that you remember the whole syllabus at once.
- Board papers, written by hand and timed, to practise the real exam.
How to take a mock test properly
Before you start
- Revise the chapter or subject first. A mock test taken before studying only tells you that you have not studied.
- Keep a notebook and pen ready for rough work, exactly as you would in the exam hall. Do not use a calculator for Maths or Science, because calculators are not allowed in the board exam.
- Switch off notifications and sit at a table. Fifteen or forty uninterrupted minutes is the whole point.
During the test
- Read every option before choosing. Many wrong options are written to catch a half-remembered rule.
- If a question takes too long, pick your best answer, note the question number and move on. In the board exam, only your first attempt at an MCQ is marked, so practise committing to one answer rather than changing it repeatedly.
- Watch the timer. Finishing a 25-question test in 40 minutes means a little over a minute and a half per question.
After you submit
This is where most of the learning happens. Read the explanation for every question you got wrong, and also for every question you guessed correctly. Write each mistake in a "mistake notebook" in one line: the chapter, what you thought, and what is actually correct. Before your next test in that subject, read the notebook for two minutes.
Turn scores into a revision list
A single score does not mean much. A pattern of scores does. When you take chapter tests while signed in, the syllabus tracker uses your scores to mark weak chapters, so you can see at a glance which chapters to revise first instead of re-reading the ones you already know.
A simple rule works well: any chapter where you got fewer than 7 out of 10 goes on your revision list. Revise it from the textbook, solve the related textbook exercises (you can check your working against the solutions in the subject question banks for Algebra, Geometry, Science 1 and Science 2), and then retake the chapter test a few days later.
How often should you take mock tests?
With the exams tentatively starting in mid-February, a realistic rhythm is:
- Now until December: finish your school syllabus and take each chapter test soon after revising that chapter. Two or three chapter tests a week is plenty.
- January: take one full subject mock test per subject, and one timed board paper per subject.
- February: retake the full subject tests and the chapter tests for weak chapters, and write at least one more complete paper per subject by hand.
Mistakes to avoid
- Taking tests without reviewing. A test you do not review is only a score.
- Repeating the same test immediately. You will remember the answers, not the concept. Leave a gap of a few days.
- Only doing MCQs. Most of the board paper is written. Practise writing full answers too.
- Avoiding weak subjects. It feels good to take tests in your strongest subject. The marks you can gain are in your weakest one.
