About the March 2026 SSC Algebra board paper

This is the Mathematics Part I (Algebra) paper set by the Maharashtra State Board for the March 2026 Class 10 examination (English medium, Revised Course, paper code N 919). It is a 2-hour paper for 40 marks and calculators are not allowed. The pattern is the usual one: Q.1 has four MCQs and four one-mark questions, Q.2 has activities to complete (any two) plus short sums (any four), Q.3 has one activity and two 3-mark sums, and Q.4 and Q.5 carry the longer 4-mark and 3-mark problems with internal choice.

Questions are drawn from all six Algebra chapters. GST and share trading appear from Financial Planning, coefficients and roots from Quadratic Equations, the nth and sum of terms from Arithmetic Progression, coins, dice and numbered cards from Probability, and mean, median and pie-diagram work from Statistics. Every question below is followed by a concise model answer in board style.

    \(\therefore n(S) =\) ____
    Event A : Prime number on the upper face.
    A = {2, 3, 5}
    \(\therefore n(A) =\) ____
    \(\therefore P(A) = \dfrac{\text{____}}{\text{____}}\)

Q.3 (A) Complete and write any one activity (3 marks)

  1. Q.3 (A)(i) Shreekar bought a Laptop with 10% discount on printed price. The printed price of that Laptop was ₹ 50,000. 18% GST was charged on discounted price. Find the amount of CGST and SGST. What amount did Shreekar pay ?

    Solution :

    Discount \(= 10\%\) of \(50{,}000 = \) ₹ ____
    \(\therefore\) Taxable value of Laptop \(= 50{,}000 - \) ____ \(= \) ₹ 45,000
    \(\therefore\) Rate of GST \(=\) ____
    \(\therefore\) Rate of CGST \(= 9\%\)
    \(\therefore\) CGST \(= 9\%\) of \(45{,}000\)
    \(= \) ____ \(\times 45{,}000\)
    \(= \) ₹ ____
